Basic Cover Explained

Campus Possessions Insurance provides cover for student's home contents and possessions whilst living on campus, in halls of residence and off campus, in private rented accommodation.

Your possessions are covered on a "new for old" basis against loss or damage by fire, flood, storm, theft, escape of water and other similar causes.

• POSSESSIONS WITHIN YOUR ACCOMMODATION - UP TO €5,000
  Your possessions are covered at your term time address against loss or damage by fire, flood, storm, theft, escape of water and other similar causes. And, in most cases we'll replace items on a new for old basis.
• DESKTOP COMPUTERS (ROOM ONLY) - UP TO €1,000
  Covers your desktop computer equipment at your term time address against loss or damage by fire, flood, storm, theft, escape of water and other similar causes.
• POSSESSIONS IN TRANSIT - UP TO €5,000
  Covers your personal possessions whilst you are moving them from your home within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, to your term time address at the beginning and end of each term.

Possessions are defined as: "All household goods and clothing belonging to you or household goods rented to you for which you are legally responsible under a written agreement making you responsible for insuring them."

IMPORTANT: Desktop & Laptop Computers, Mobile Phones, Pedal Cycles, Accidental Damage and All Risks cover outside of the home are not be included within this section. Separate optional extensions apply for these items.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED WITH BASIC COVER

• RENTAL PROTECTION - UP TO €500
  We will reimburse rent you have paid in advance if you become temporarily totally disabled by sickness or accidental bodily injury and can no longer live in your rented accommodation.
• LANDLORDS PROPERTY - UP TO €10,000
  Covers the amount you have to pay following theft or fire damage to your landlord's property.
• PERSONAL ACCIDENT - UP TO €10,000
  Provides benefit if you are disabled within 12 months of an accident.
• ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF A PARENT OR GUARDIAN - UP TO €10,000
  Provides finance allowing you to finish your course following the accidental death of your parent or guardian.
• REPLACEMENT LOCKS - UP TO €250
  Cost of replacing keys and locks to an external door.

OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS TO BASIC COVER

• ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE (ROOM ONLY) - UP TO €2,000
  Covers accidental damage to audio equipment, camera equipment, desktop computer equipment, games consoles, television, video and DVD players.
• DESKTOP COMPUTERS EXTENSION (ROOM ONLY) - UP TO €2,000
  Extend cover for your desktop computer equipment at your term time address against loss or damage by fire, flood, storm, theft, escape of water and other similar causes.
• LAPTOP COMPUTERS (ALL RISKS) - UP TO €2,000
  Covers your laptop and portable computer equipment for loss or accidental damage anywhere within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland
• MOBILE PHONES (ALL RISKS) - UP TO €1,000
  Covers your mobile phone against accidental damage or theft whilst anywhere within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
• PEDAL CYCLES (ALL RISKS) - UP TO €1,000
  Covers your pedal cycles against accidental damage or theft whilst anywhere within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
• SPECIFIED ITEMS | ALL RISKS (COVER OUTSIDE OF THE HOME) - UP TO €2,500
  Covers your specified personal possessions against accidental damage or loss whilst anywhere within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

IMPORTANT: Laptops, Mobile Phones & Pedal Cycles should not be included within this section, separate "All Risks" optional extensions to Basic Cover.
